In this one-time class, young girls will learn what it means to be mindful, why practicing mindfulness is important, participate in a few mindfulness activities and learn how they can make time to be mindful each day.

Class Experience

Students will learn what it means to be mindful.
Students will participate in several mindfulness activities.
Students will notice the changes in their body and mind before, during and after the mindfulness activities. 
Students will make a list of ways that they can be mindful to use outside of class.
Students will learn times that they can set aside to be mindful each day. 
I had the privilege of being a girls' run club coach for many years.  As such, I underwent training that focused on teaching young girls different life and social skills. I look forward to continuing to use my training in this space.   
Plain paper, pencil, crayons or markers and 1 raisin
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
