"Be Kind" Storytime With Olaf

In this one time class we will cover the topic "Kindness". With the author's permission, learners will listen to me read aloud the book entitled 'BE KIND" by Pat Zietlow Miller. I will read the book using digital slides on screen share so learners will get a great view of the pictures during story time. In this class , we will read about the different actions from the book and discuss whether they are kind or not. Learners will be asked about feelings, and how they feel when someone is kind to them. After the book discussion, we will do a fun art project where we take a Kleenex box and make an OLAF out of it.  It will be called an OLAF Kindness box!  After we make our Olaf , we will write down different words that are associated with kindness and put them in our box or we can say we are feeding our Olaf with our kind words. I like to conduct my classes with a fun and energetic teaching style. This class is a great mix of hands-on art project, social skills , and writing vocabulary words while discussing kindness.
Learners do not need any previous experience. Learners will need scissors, glue, brown ,2 one inch googly eyes, orange, brown and black markers, 2 sheets of white paper, 3 cotton balls and a PUFF box that has a side tab opening.
