This class will be a comprehensive review of Algebra 1 concepts including order of operations, exponents, radicals, solving linear and quadratic equations, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and factoring polynomials, determining equations of a line and reviewing formulas for the coordinate plane. Each week we will review the concepts and work through practice problems. I will provide review notes and practice problems at the beginning of each week that the students can download and print. The class will be interactive as we work through the problems. This is an Algebra 1 review class so students should have prior knowledge of Algebra concepts. The purpose of the class is to review the material to get students ready for higher level math classes. Below is a breakdown of the concepts being taught each week.

Week 1: Order of Operations and Solving Linear Equations and Inequalities
*Grouping Symbols, Algebraic expressions and formulas, Solving one and two variable equations

Week 2: Exponents and Radicals
* Rules for exponents, expressing rational exponents as radicals, product and quotient rules for radicals, simplifying radicals

Week 3: Polynomials
*Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing polynomials, Simplifying and factoring polynomial expressions

Week 4: Quadratic Equations, Equations for Coordinate plane and determining equations of a line
*Solving Quadratic equations by factoring, completing the square and quadratic formula, Distance, midpoint and slope formulas, determining equations of a line
