Class experience
In this class students will learn how to create a bandana accessory for their pet! I have been designing pet products for 16 years. In this class students will learn how to create a bandana accessory from an actual pet product designer! This course utilizes basic sewing skills. We will use cotton fabric, thread, scissors, ruler, an iron, a pattern that is provided for you, and a sewing machine. Students will use a sewing pattern, measure, cut, stitch a straight stitch, press using an iron,...
Students will be able to: -Print and apply a pattern to a piece of cotton fabric. -Straight stitch and back stitch on the sewing machine. -Press using an iron. -Turn corners on a sewn piece. -Make a completed bandana for their pet!
3 files available upon enrollment- 1/2 yard of cotton fabric (quilter’s cotton or broadcloth works the best, check the remnant section at your local craft store, there are often good options there) - Straight pins - Sewing scissors (scissors sharp enough to cut fabric) or a rotary cutting tool - If using a rotary cutting tool, then a cutting mat will be necessary - Printer - Ruler - Scissors for cutting paper - Thread that matches the fabric you have chosen - Scotch tape - Iron and ironing board
Scissors or a rotary cutting tool, straight pins, an iron, and a sewing machine will be used in this class. Extra safety precautions should be taken for students using these tools.
