Be a Confident Reader! - Monthly Language Arts Tutoring

This is for families who need one-time billing instead of weekly billing. This is the same class as my Be a Confident Reader!- Reading and Language Arts Tutoring listing. The only difference between the two is that the other listing is billed on a weekly basis. 

This course is one-on-one tutoring for 8 weeks. Topics include comprehension, grammar, reading fluency, and writing. 

The curriculum will be customized to the students' needs. I use a variety of strategies to create lessons that are both informative and fun. After enrolling, please see the classroom post for a survey to help me understand how I can best be of service. Because this is a one-on-one class that is tailored to the student, each lesson will be defined based on how the the survey questions are answered. 

Some students need to work on reading comprehension, others could benefit from help with writing and spelling, and others need practice with personal expression. 

My teaching style is compassionate and motivational. I also believe that learning should be fun. Parents looking for more of a “drill sergeant” type of teacher are not likely to resonate with my teaching style. I believe that bringing out the best in a student requires patience, encouragement, and building rapport.
