Class Experience
In these weekly lessons, students will be taught how to identify strings & frets, how rhythm works, how to play scales which leads into playing bass lines, and how to play your favourite songs! We start by focusing on rhythm and learning how to carry chord progressions. This quickly leads us into songs. Beyond that, we examine the music theory behind scales and bring it right into playing bass parts that will become increasingly intricate. The focus is always put on playing music and getting you to be the best bassist you can be! No background knowledge is required, only that you have your own electric bass. What to expect in the first few lessons: -Identifying the open strings -Identifying fretted notes within the first five frets -Counting rhythms out loud -Learning the C major scale in 1st and 2nd position (lowest octave, and octave above) -Performing a bass line in the key of C -Performing bass lines using simple chord structures -Learning your favourite songs!
