45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, students will form an opinion about a topic, Basketball OR Football. Students will think about and brainstorm reasons that support their topic. We will go through the parts of the graphic organizer together and work step by step to complete the graphic organizer for our opinions with specific reasons and details. There are two different options for graphic organizers, so students can decide which one they want to use. Sentence starters are available to help students form complete thoughts. Students will be able to talk through their ideas aloud and receive support to write it down on their graphic organizer. If there is time, students will then take their ideas from their graphic organizer and write it into a paragraph. Students have the option to draw a picture to go with their writing as well. On the sentence starter sheet, students will be able to check their work with a quick checklist to make sure they have included all parts in their paragraph. At the end of class, students will share their writing. After class, I would love to see the students writing so you can upload it in a review or in a private message. I will respond back with feedback for every piece of writing shared. Also, I would love to see what you thought of my class by writing a review. If you have additional questions, please message me and I will respond promptly.
