What's included

Class Experience

The class will consist of video instruction showing how to perform the moves. Students will then be encouraged to practice the moves and record themselves performing the moves so that I can provide coaching feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.

As a FLEX class, this will allow students to practice the moves on their own time, at their own pace, and in a space that is more appropriate for basketball movements (gym, garage/driveway, etc.).

Students will also engage with one another by participating in "peer-reviews" of our techniques by commenting on each other's videos with constructive comments based on coaching principles. This will help learners to develop the ability to analyze game play and develop positive communication with others.

Learning Goals

In this course, students will learn one of the most essential fundamentals of being an offensive threat on the basketball court: Triple Threat. They will also learn the skills that build off of this. Students will learn the following:
-The 3 goals for Triple Threat
-The basic mechanics for how to perform Triple Threat
-The basic mechanics for a dribble-drive move
-The basic mechanics for shooting
-The basic mechanics for dribbling
-How to think strategically about how to apply the skills in a game situation

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a teacher and coach currently coaching Freshmen girls basketball in the winter and 8th grade girls soccer in the spring and fall. I have coached a wide range of players from ages 5 to Varsity boys/girls. In soccer, I have my D coaching license and in basketball I have completed the Fundamentals of Coaching course. I have a passion for the game of basketball because it is high-energy, fast-paced, team-oriented, and highly competitive.

I started playing basketball when I was in 2nd grade and played competitively on travel teams starting in 6th grade, started on the Varsity team for 4 years in High School, and JV in college.

As a player, I had fantastic coaches who instilled the fundamentals of quality basketball into my game. I want to pass on my passion and knowledge to other aspiring players! My coaches also taught me life skills such as team work, dedication, hard work, focus on the details, commitment, sportsmanship, and so much more. I strive to set an example based on this integrity and teach students how to be better human beings, not just better basketball players!
