We will use Zoom to meet live each week reviewing power-points, live demonstrations, and live interactions. I will model and guide each student with proper basic hand shapes for each sign taught, finger spelling including A,B,C's and each students' name, and numbers. While learning each sign we will also work on facial expressions and why speaking while signing is important. Students will be provided with a printable of these signs to practice at home and all powerpoint will be able to print....
Students will improve their understanding of deaf culture while learning how to use basic ASL to communicate in the deaf/ hard of hearing community.
Since 3rd grade I have had a passion for deaf culture and teaching ASL spending most of my childhood in a group called World of Children where we preformed sign language to music around the Country. I was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade twice, and invited to a Presidential Inauguration. I want to share my knowledge and skills of ASL to others to promote awareness of deaf culture while learning how to communicate in the deaf community.
I will provide students with study guides to review in between classes.
1 file available upon enrollmentNo purchases necessary. I will provide all material.
Learner progress is assessed through observation and weekly quizzes (Not graded, but assessed).
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
