In this one-time class, basic nutrition will be introduced and students will use their creativity to plan meals for one day.

This class will teach basic nutrition and health. We will discuss the basic knowledge of nutrition and health. Afterward, the class will review the importance of a balanced meal. Then, we will review the functions of nutrition in food. After reviewing and going over basic nutrition and health, the class will have an individual activity of planning meals for one day using the content they learned and a grocery store listing. After completing their activity, we will compare the students' meals as a group.

Students will be able to identify good nutrition and the functions of nutrition in foods.
