This class will cover the diatonic solfège scale. Solfège is a prevalent methodology to teach children about pitch and intervals. The concepts will be taught through various music based games. Students will be asked to sing, dance, and play interactive games. Due to the entertaining nature of the class, it will be a little on the high energy side. Students do not need any prior experience, we will be starting with the basics. The class will meet for 30-minutes, 2 times a week, for 4 weeks....
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to sing a diatonic scale on Solfège syllables using the appropriate hand signs.
You will need these for every class: Something that shakes like a container of rice. Something to dance with like a scarf or small blanket.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Movement will range from light to medium. For example, students may do static stretches and some freestyle dancing. Although it is preferable for students to have a wide open space, they need at least enough space to stand and swing their arms without hitting anything. If necessary, movements can also be adapted to sitting.
