Description
Class Experience
Students will practice addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. They will also learn how to dissect a word-problem to solve quickly and correctly. They will be briefly introduced to decimals, negative numbers, and long division.
At the end of class I will give assign a worksheet with several problems for students to practice at home. The homework will take under 30 minutes to complete and answers can be checked by parents however I will also include an answer sheet emailed to parents explaining how to solve each problem. I will also send an animal trivia quiz with answers!
Students should bring a pencil and paper. Calculators will not be used.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I provide parents will an informal assessment. At the end of class we play a game of bingo where students will solve 5 problems. I will use that, along with their performance throughout class, to evaluate their progress.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
