US Grade 2 - 5
During the Crimean War, there were two amazing women who contributed to nursing. Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole are seen as two of the pioneers in nursing, with each contributing in their own way. In this class, we will discuss their lives and how they found themselves in the middle of a war, helping soldiers to heal. We will discuss their legacy and how they are remembered today. Perfect for students without any background knowledge, geared to make history fun and interesting! In addition to lots of facts, students are encouraged to take notes or make drawings to reinforce learning. During the class, students will be asked to discuss what they have learned and complete a handout with answers. The instructor will teach using discussion, slides, images and an interactive map. Students are encouraged to ask questions along the way.

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a London tour guide, I offer guided walking tours about history and people who have lived and worked in London. This tour is dear to my heart, as it is something I started doing online during the pandemic, discussing how the memories of Nightingale and Seacole have been remembered again and again. As nurses have been our greatest heroes during the pandemic, it is important to remember these two women.
