In this class, we look at the non-royal happenings in London including William Shakespeare's rise to fame and the development of the theatre, Christopher Wren's architectural achievements, and amazing discoveries in science. * Students will learn facts about William Shakespeare's life and be able to recite several words and phrases from his plays * Students will learn about Christopher Wren and his career as an astronomer, mathematician and architect * Students will discover the disagreement between Robert Hooke and Isaac Newton * Students will be able to identify several buildings in London that date back to this time period
Homework Offered
An optional homework assignment will be to explore Google map to find locations where Kings lived that can still be visited today in London. A handout will help the students to find these locations.Assessments Offered
