After the death of Queen Elizabeth I, the country encounters all kinds of traumatic events. Thirteen conspirators are caught in The Gunpowder Plot, the King is challenged and the English Civil War breaks out. Just when things seem back to normal, the Great Fire of London threatens to destroy the city. Perfect for students without any background knowledge, geared to make history fun and interesting! Making the topic age-appropriate, the students will learn lots of facts, and are encouraged...
* Students will learn about King James I, King Charles I and King Charles II * Students will be able to explain the Gunpowder Plot and how it was foiled * Students will discover the two sides of the English Civil War * Students will be able to identify what caused the Great Fire of London
An optional homework assignment will be to explore Google map to find locations where Kings lived that can still be visited today in London. A handout will help the students to find these locations.
