In this class, learners will master basic greetings, times of day, and introductions. English is taught holistically through reading, speaking, listening, and writing. Here, we will begin with a hello song, followed by learning how to say our names. Learners will interact with each other after reviewing the phrases to introduce themselves. Next, we will learn how to greet someone according to the time of day (morning, afternoon, evening, night). Finally, we will practice with a game and write "Hello, my name is..." on the whiteboard. Vocabulary will include: hello, nice to meet you, my name is, how are you?, I'm good, great, wonderful, good morning, evening, afternoon, night Learners will be encouraged to practice together and by taking turns. The teacher will model, cue, prompt, and use body language to guide students, allowing as much speaking and peer-to-peer interaction as possible. No prior English Language is necessary. This can be the very first exposure to English for a learner. All material will be a Google Slide presented via screen sharing on the teacher's screen. No links will be clicked by learners or account logins are needed.
