Class Experience

This class teaches about the penny, nickel, dime and quarter. We will discuss the names and how much each coin is worth. The students will learn through games, songs, and actions. The songs will help the students better remember the names and the worth of the coins.

Each students and teacher will interact by discussing each coin. We will take a quick look at what is on the heads and tails of the coins. The teacher will use a worksheet and virtual manipulatives to help discuss the topic. Students are asked to bring a penny, nickel, dime and quarter to class so they can have a visual and hands on way to learn.

The class will be a 25 minute demonstration and discussion class. We will take a couple minutes for each coin. The song will be broken into segments to make it easier to learn. At the end we will play a game to assess what they learned.

The topics to be covered are: names, worth, heads, and tails of each coin.

Hi I'm Jenn! I am a Children's book author and Early Childhood Educator from Canada, and have been teaching 3-14 year old learners since 2013. I got halfway through a program to become an elementary school teacher before switching to a psychology based degree in Child Youth and Family studies. My focus is on healthy child brain and body development.

My passion is in understanding the functions of the human brain! Children who understand how their brain works, and understand concepts like brain plasticity are more likely to be resilient and develop a growth mindset. I teach psychology classes and my goal is to teach children how to be resilient and how to build on their strengths while strengthening their weaknesses. My published book is about the brain as well!

I worked as a personal support worker while I was studying, and I emphasize inclusivity in my classes. If you have a learner who needs any adjustment to fit their needs send me a message. I will work with you to make their learning experience a success. I am happy to add subtitles to my own video content, change class sizes to meet individualized needs, and accommodate students based on their developmental level.

I am passionate about travel and I plan on world schooling my own children when they get older! I have a number of travel related classes available. Keep an eye out for virtual world schooling classes in the future! When it is safe to travel again I will be taking my classroom on the road.

I can't wait to meet you in the classroom!
