For two years I taught a harmonica workshop for the City of Mission Viejo's Cultural Affairs department, my Mission Harmonica Circle™ (Making Your World Better With Music ... and Harmonicas!), which I describe as a drum circle with harmonicas. I have interviewed movie stars and rock stars from Mick Jagger to Marty Scorsese, David Bowie, Jimmie Page and Tom Hanks, Patti Smith and The Rock.
5 files available upon enrollmentThe learner will need a simple diatonic harmonica in the key of C, which may be purchased at a supplied merchandise provider – see the plastic harmonicas in my teacher profile pic for an example. I will show you how to get one before the class begins so you can have ample time to fool around with it and get to know your instrument before you come to class. Also, songbook pages and technique handouts and charts are useful for continuing lessons. I like to hand out song lyrics with harp chords on them and charts that show the basics of music theory for learners to practice 15 minutes a day on songs, techniques and jams.
