As a father to an active 7 year old, I know that learning must be fun. The early years of a child’s education is critical not only for their future success but also their enjoyment of learning. I want to start kids off right on this journey. I have a Bachelor‘s degree from Geneva College with over a decade experience teaching children and teens. I have years of experience leading a classroom in both public schools in Ohio as well as online. I previously held credentials through the State of Ohio Department of Education (now expired). I taught in public schools for 2 school years where history and other social studies was part of my duties as an educator. I have over 5 years of experience teaching children on online platforms and have taught thousands of kids to live history. I pride myself on never letting kids get bored yet always be learning. I have a passion for helping children succeed.
This class is a biography class about the lives of the Presidents of the United States of America. It is not a class about politics. This class will be inclusive to all. If student bring up political questions or comments, the students will be interrupted and gently told that these questions and/comments will not be discussed in class. Since the Presidents are people, messy things happened during their lifetime. Although the focus of the classes will be on the presidents life, there may be brief mentions of some sensitive topics (ex. war, violence, slavery). These topics when brought up will be done so gently with very little detail. However families should decided if their learner is ready for such topics.
