In this course learners will learn basic ballet technique. We will first introduce ourselves, which will be followed by some stretching. We will then start to learn the basics of ballet. The basics will include position of the feet, positions of the arms, movements in dance (to include, plie, tendue, retire, grand battement, saute, and so much more. No materials are required for this class, however proper dance wear will allow better movement for the student and will enable the teacher to better see the students alignment. Proper alignment helps to keep the student safe. Hair should be neatly out of the face. A neat appearance helps to the student to focus. Girls- leotard, tights, ballet shoes (pink), hair in a bun Boys t-shirt, biking shorts (or similar fitted sports pants), ballet shoes (black), hair out of the face.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
For leaner safety, students should have a clear open space to work in.
