Barton Reading & Spelling System Tutoring: Orton Gillingham Intervention
This is a 1-1 class for kids with reading challenges, including Dyslexia. We will use the Barton Reading & Spelling system to learn and practice the building blocks of literacy. Classes are interactive, positive, and filled with games!

Mastery Evaluation
1 hour per week. After a student completes each level, I send a certificate of completion to the family. I also have progress check-ins with the parents/guardians every 3 months. If families want more frequent updates, it is available upon request.Certificate of Completion

Beginner Level
Does your child struggle to read, sound out words, and spell? I'd love to help! I provide 1-1 tutoring using the Barton Reading & Spelling System, a highly effective, multi-sensory, Orton Gillinham based program. The Barton system is comprised of ten levels. Most students will start in level one, but I will give a screener to help determine the best place to start with each person. Some skills that will be practiced include phonemic awareness, blending, fluency, reading and spelling rules, and sight words. We work on new skills together, having the student demonstrate mastery before moving on. Skills are reenforced with games in each class. This is not only helpful to the student, but it makes the class loads of fun!

Learning Needs
This class is specifically for kids with Dyslexia or other reading and spelling challenges. No official diagnosis is required. Before we begin, I will give a student screener to make sure that this program would be a good fit.
Pre-Requisites
Students need a strong Internet connection, computer, and low distraction environment. A mouse and headset with a microphone is strongly recommended.
