During this 4 week course, students will have fun working out once a week. Barre is a combination of pilates, yoga and ballet. It is a great workout for strengthening muscles and improving flexibility. It focuses on small movements of your arms and legs to create a burn. Sometimes weights are added in to give students a challenge. During class, we will start with a warm up to get those muscles ready. Then we will work on arms using light weights. Improved flexibility Strength training Cardio
I love fitness and believe it is important for everyone no matter what age. I have taught kids of all ages fitness classes such as barre and zumba. I am currently working on getting my official barre certification (Covid has unfortunately pushed it back). I work with each student to ensure safety and fun. I think form is very important so that you don't injure yourself as well as going at your own pace.
Yoga mat or other mat to workout on Set of light weights (1, 2, or 3 pounds) - all exercises can be done without these Chair (this will be our bar)
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents should ensure their child has an open space to workout in. You have enough room if you reach your arms out and twist and don't hit anything. And if you bend over the chair and extend your leg behind you. Also, please make sure they have water because staying hydrated when doing any workout is very important.
