This music appreciation class is all about appreciating music of the Baroque period. Students will learn about music from the Baroque period, the composers who wrote it, and how to broadly talk about and appreciate music.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree in classical piano performance and Master's degrees in music history and music theory. I have taught music from PK-12 and my experience has helped me to create classes that help learners get excited about classical music. I have a passion for presenting music in ways that get learners engaged in what they are listening to and interested in exploring the vastness of classical repertoire.
Learners are encouraged to listen to class repertoire outside of class to keep musical ideas fresh between classes.
A handout will be provided before each class to facilitate learning.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
