At Christmas the kitchen is filled with delicious aromas - during this Bark Club Christmas Party we will be baking up delicious treats that will have your dog drooling!

Beginner or advanced bakers are welcome in this class, I will walk students through step by step. We will begin by preparing the Candy Cane cookie dough, while that chills we will prepare and bake the Reindeer Cookies. Students should be familiar with how to work a mixer. We will follow the...

Reindeer Cookies
2   1/2 cups flour
1  egg
1  beef bouillion cube (no onion listed in ingredients)
              or ~ 1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup hot water

Mixing bowl, spoon (whisk optional)
Reindeer Head Cookie Cutter
Rolling Pin
Parchment lined baking sheet

Icing for Reindeer Cookies
2 cups powdered sugar
1  1/2 tablespoons meringue powder
1/4 cup warm water

electric mixer
food coloring gel: black, brown, red (optional)
                
piping bag with #2 tip (or baggie & scissors)

Candy Cane Cookies
3 cups flour
1/2 cup non-fat powdered (dry) milk
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup warm water
1 chicken chicken bouillon cube or cinnamon
2 eggs
2 tsp natural food coloring 
                   (or pure strawberry juice)
1/2 teaspoon peppermint oil (optional)

Bonus dog chews
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup pumpkin puree 
silicone molds or ice trays

2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

Parent support is welcome for tasks that might need some guidance depending on student ability.
Students will need to use a mixer and oven.
Chews can be prepared using a knife or food processor. (optional)
