Others Session overview This lesson plan belongs to a suite that teaches pupils how to form good money habits for the long term. We recommend that you allow your child start with this activity, which follows Samir going out for the day with his friends to spend his birthday money. At the end of the activity, pupils are encouraged to retrace Samir’s steps to solve the mystery of the missing money. The reveal points in each scene cover topics such as value for money, creating a budget and making payments. The other lesson plans in this series look at the topics covered in more depth to embed learning and all relate back to Samir’s birthday budget challenge. We would use flexibly as standalone lessons, or delivered as part of a series alongside the other lesson plans. All the sessions align to the Financial Education Planning Frameworks. Each lesson consists of a simple plan with supporting presentation slides that can be adapted to suit most learning environments. Quick activity: short classroom activities (15 minutes or less), for group and independent learning including films and interactive worksheets. These are located on their corresponding full length lesson plan pages. • SEND/ALN adapted: lesson plans adapted for young people with special educational needs, disabilities and alternative learning needs. • Care leavers: lesson plans specially designed to meet the needs of care leavers. • Remote learning: teaching resources designed for remote learning, including films and interactive worksheets. These are located on their corresponding full length lesson plan pages. I function effectively as a process guide for helping children navigate finance related topics. I use Socratic questioning to break down content into manageable pieces and to encourage participative learning from students from multiple perspectives. Ultimately it's what gets remembered that eventually gets used. I encourage learners to practise what we share during our sessions consistently for deliberate and intentional improvement goals. I try to create an engaging learning environment for my learners which is a proven strong motivator for positive learning. I strive to help my pupils with the best-suited style to their learning. I am very flexible with my day and times. Very Interactive, learners will play games, watch video clips, design games of their own, draw, express themselves independently, group tasks, fun quizzes, adventures etc.
