This class is designed for students to learn how to make digital music. Each session the group will be shown a new step in the process and then they will practice that step in order to create and enhance their own beats. Students will first view the teacher demonstrate different styles of beats. They will then learn new skills and techniques to make beats including, drum loops, sampling, and adding virtual instruments. The class will then create their own beats. In each class, students will share their creations with the group. Session 1 Drums - students will learn the foundation of a beat, the drums. They will learn how to use the drum looping of sampled drums from the Logic sound bank and then create original drum rhythms with virtual drums. Session 2 virtual instruments & samples - students will learn to use the virtual instruments in Logic to build their beat. They will also learn how to sample songs and sounds to use them in their beat. Session 3 mixing & editing- students will learn to mix the layers of their beat so they sound professional. They will then learn how to add edits and changes throughout their song in order to complete their projects.
