Homework
1 hour per week. Additional practice after the lesson is recommended.Class Experience
Learner will provide their own music for the one-time lesson. This can be something assigned from a group they participate in that just needs a little more one-on-one help. We can work on more than one piece of music during the lesson, just let me know so we can split the time between two or more pieces. Teacher will help polish up details if they already know the basics of the piece of music, or if it is still difficult and new, teacher will help student work on manageable chunks of the music and develop strategies to practice it. If two learners from the same household are working on the same piece of music or a duet, they can both attend the lesson (I will waive/refund the cost of the second student). Great instruments for this class are piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, etc. Please message me to schedule a time for this class if you do not see a scheduled time that works for you.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, My name is Mrs. VW.
I teach music and other classes on Outschool.
I have experience teaching orchestra, band, choir and general music in school classrooms and for private groups such as home school and fine arts organizations. I have over 15 years of experience teaching private instrument lessons, mainly string instruments and piano.
Our world is full of beauty and I love helping others tune in to notice, create and share beautiful things.
When I'm not teaching or creating music, I enjoy reading and learning new things!
Note:
If you are thinking of purchasing a string instrument in preparation for a class, you are welcome to message me about good quality but still affordable recommendations. Buying a too-cheap and poorly made 'violin shaped object' off Amazon or other sellers can result in frustrations with an instrument that breaks, is hard to tune, hard to play etc.
