Dancers will learn French movement vocabulary by singing along with balletic adaptations of folk tunes, from Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush to Chickalileeo. Dancers will enjoy interactive storytelling (featuring wonderful book selections such as Ella Bella Ballerina, or the Miss Lina's Ballerinas series) and move and groove right right through these tales after hearing them. As this is an ongoing class, we'll always be working with the foundational movements of ballet: plies, tendus, arabesques, chasses, and much more. To keep things fresh, method of instruction changes often. We may experience ballet stories or concepts through picture books, puppets, flannel boards, poems and, of course, an array of songs.
Learning Goals
This class offers a multifaceted experience of ballet, rather than just imparting steps. Students have the opportunity to make music, be social, express themselves through dance, enjoy a variety of high quality children's literature, and soak up a sturdy and nontraditional approach to classical ballet.

Parental Guidance
Please ensure dancers have a few feet to safely move in all directions
Comfortable, stretchy clothes like leggings, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, leotard, or tights are recommended
