Description
Class Experience
In this course, students will learn the foundational techniques of balloon art. This class is focused on hands-on learning and the majority of class time will be spent twisting. I like to teach what the learner is interested in, so once we cover all the primary twists and the 1 and 2 balloon designs listed below, if there is still time remaining, the class will become student-led. Learners will have the opportunity to ask any questions they have during class. I want to make sure that each...
Students will walk away from this course with the majority of the skills they need to make anything out of balloons, and/or go on to take more advanced classes.
I have been a balloon artist for eight years and I have had my own business for four. I twist balloons for all events and all ages, I also love making large and small sculptures in my spare time, and I even occasionally make dresses entirely from balloons. As for my teaching background, I have been the assistant director of a living history program for four years, so I have quite a bit of experience teaching kids (ages nine to eighteen), communicating with parents, and answering questions.
There will be no assigned homework, however practicing between classes is highly encouraged.
