This four-week course will give first-time dancers the basic skills to participate in the dance class of their choosing. This class will utilize a slow pace, easing students in to the basics of dance. Class will combine ballet and jazz movement with short lessons/lectures on how to approach dance classes in general. Ballet/Jazz Combo Dance is an Arts category course. The primary goal of this class is to not only prepare a dancer physically but mentally. Students will take time learn the proper names of steps and dance class etiquette. We will take time to go over proper positions and strategies to keep the body safe during physical activity. Our objective is not to merely work up a sweat, but to start a young dancer's journey in proper studio-style training. Student/Teacher Interaction is highly encouraged during class. Students are urged to ask questions when they occur. For this reason, we may occasionally cover additional (course-related) material, based on student inquiry.
