Class Experience

In this weekly Ballet class, we will learn about the beautiful world of Ballet, practice steps, and make friends!

Structure of Class:
1. We will start with ‘Share Time' where Learners will get to meet one another and make friends!

2. Next, it’s time to get to dancing with a fun follow along warm-up where we will stretch our bodies and get moving!

3. Then, it's time to learn Ballet steps! Each week we will practice steps that test our balance and strength as well as use our imaginations to be creative. We will also play a few ballet based games to reinforce the new ideas and concepts introduced in each class! Steps will be practiced around the room, so make sure you have space to dance!

4. We will always end each class with a follow along dance to say Goodbye to one another.

Movement being taught includes: Introduction of natural feet positions, plié, piqué pointe, skip, chassé, passé, skip, arabesque, 1-to-1 foot jumps, sauté in 1st and 2nd, and more!

Since Ballet is a physical activity, it is recommended there be adult supervision throughout class as there is always a level of risk associated with any physical activity. Please have a space cleared of debris and clutter (minimum 4X4 ft square) so your learner can move about freely and safely. As a teacher, I aim to always create a warm and welcoming environment in my classes where all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore their inner creativity! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional I can do to make your child more at ease in my classes.
Learning Goals

Parental Guidance
Since Ballet is a physical activity, it is recommended there be adult supervision throughout class as there is always a level of risk and injury that can occur with any physical activity. Please have a space cleared of debris and clutter (minimum 4X4 ft square) so your learner can move about freely and safely. Having a water bottle or water near is important in case your learner gets thirsty during class (we will take a short designated water break during class). Safety is my #1 priority as a teacher, so let's make sure your learner is in a safe environment so we can have fun dancing together!
