Class Experience

Intermediate Level
In this weekly Ballet class, we will continue to practice our technique, develop artistry, and make friends as we dance together to classical music! We will learn intermediate Ballet movement and vocabulary to develop both strength and grace. If you have taken at least 2 years of Ballet training, then this is the class for you!

This class is structured and will follow the same format each week:

1. Class will start with a Ballet barre where we will begin with plié and tendu followed by the classical steps. All movement will be broken so every student can be set up for success. Contrasting movement will be taught at barre (adagio vs. allegro) as well as coordination between the upper and lower body.

2. After barre, we will take a water break and then work on flexibility with specific stretches.

3. Next, it's time to test our skills with centre technique pertaining to balance and strength. We will learn moving combinations utilizing the technique we worked on at barre.

4. If time allows, we will end each class with a short ballet combination to refine our memory skills and expand on our individual artistry!

Since Ballet is a physical activity, it is recommended there be adult supervision throughout class as there is always a level of risk associated with any physical activity. Please have a space cleared of clutter (minimum 4X4 ft square) so your learner can move about freely and safely, as well as a sturdy object to use as a ballet barre.

*I lead my classes with kindness, structure, and encourage students to reach their full potential. Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions!
