Class will start at our Ballet barre where we will learn about the positions of the feet, plié, tendu, and more. Each week we will work on different steps at barre, and every step will be broken down so all students can be successful 2. After Barre, we will then transition to the ground where we will work on flexibility and important stretches 3. The second half of class is focused on learning steps in the center of the room and across the floor! We will learn to move in different directions, practice balancing, and develop strength through thoughtfully crafted Ballet exercises 4. At the end of class, students will learn a short Ballet combination to reinforce concepts learned. Parental Guidance
Since Ballet is a physical activity, it is recommended there be adult supervision throughout class as there is always a level of risk and injury that can occur with any physical activity. Please have a space cleared of debris and clutter (minimum 4X4 ft square) so your learner can move about freely and safely, as well as a sturdy object to use as a ballet barre. Having a water bottle or water near is important in case your learner gets thirsty during class (we will take a short designated water break during class). Safety is my #1 priority as a teacher, so let's make sure your learner is in a safe environment so we can have fun dancing together!
Supply List
You should be in a space cleared from clutter and debris so it is safe to move about freely. Bring some water or a water bottle in case you get thirsty! Dance clothes that are comfortable to move in as well as ballet shoes, socks or bare feet is fine. Please have a sturdy object to use as a ballet barre.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
