Class Experience

In this ongoing course students will be introduced to the basic ballet steps! Students will learn steps including plies, tendu, degage, saute, and even more! Students will have fun learning new ballet vocabulary, new steps, and fun combinations each class.
Each class will consist of a 5 minute introductions/answering question of day if students would like to share (ex: students can share what butterfly they would like to be during class) and ballet warmup, 15-20 minutes of learning ballet steps and ballet vocabulary through various combinations and 3-5 minutes of a fun dance game and 3-5 minutes for an end of class reflection.
Each week we will focus on something new (this is subject to change) but each week we will focus on learning ballet vocabulary, steps, and technique.
This class will focus on repetition of steps so students can really learn each ballet step each week!

Appropriate Dance Attire:
If students wear a dress or skirt, students must wear leggings or shorts under as we will be doing lots of jumps and twirls. Even if students wear tights with their dress/skirt they must also have shorts or leggings on under. Please no sports bra or crop tops.
It is recommended that students wear ballet attire such as ballet leotard, ballet tights, and ballet skirt or athletic attire such as leggings and t-shirt and leotard. Please no socks as this can be slippery while dancing. Ballet shoes are recommended but not required.

Music:
Music for this ballet class will consist of a combination of instrumental, classical, and vocal music and the specific songs may vary for each class meeting and section but some music for the combinations may repeat each class (this depends on what the focus of the class is). For more information on the artists that I will choose music from for class, please see the sources section of this class listing.
