This Teen Ballet class will introduce ballet fundamentals. The class will begin with traditional barre work, such as Plies, Tendu, Degage, Battement, Ronde de Jambe, Coupe, Passe, and more. Students will allowed to interact with the instructor with questions. We will then learn proper stretching technique away from the barre and work up to splits and straddles. A chair is needed to be used as a Ballet Barre.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be sure your learner has an open space for moving, free of obstacles. Ballet shoes would be perfect but socks will work just fine. Comfortable/stretchy clothing that is not too baggy is recommended. A water bottle is always great.
