Ballet 101: Placement, Strength, and Flexibility

In this three-week course, students will learn helpful exercises and tips through Progressing Ballet Technique and effective cross training to help progress in placement, strength, and flexibility for dance and classical Ballet.

Class Experience

Students will improve their placement, strength, and flexibility, as well as grow in knowledge of basic anatomy and finding proper muscle engagement for dance and classical Ballet. 
I have a professional certification to teach Progressing Ballet Technique. 
No homework will be assigned for this class, however it is recommended to stay active and practice any terminology and movement learned in our time together for further advancement, as well as taking notes of corrections and exercises. 
Materials: - An open space to move and dance in, at least a 4x4 ft square - Exercise mat (such as a yoga mat) - Exercise Ball* - Small Bouncy Ball/Pilates Ball - around 9 in. - Small lacrosse or tennis ball - Hand towel or Theraband - Comfortable clothes you can move and stretch in - Socks - Water bottle - Notebook and pen *For exercise ball sizes refer to this guide: Under 4'8" - 45 cm ball 4'8" to 5'3" - 55cm ball 5'4" to 5'10" - 65 cm ball
If the student desires further assessment outside of class time, please direct any questions to me following class.
1 hour per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Please contact me in advance if you have any health or safety concerns for your learner. In this class we will move at a slow to moderate pace together, monitoring our physical activity safely.*

*For this class specifically be sure to have sufficient space to move in, as noted in the supply list. An exercise/yoga mat is suggested to reduce slipping/sliding on floor, and the student can also be barefoot to help with this. In addition to this, the correct sized exercise ball is needed to insure proper placement and reduce any risk of injury. Please make sure your exercise ball has been filled/pumped up completely before classes begin. Any additional questions regarding safety and supplies will be answered directly.
