In this fun social class dressing up is a must. We will start with a cup of tea, or any appropriate drink, then we will color a page that represents the ballet concept of the week. We will work on ballet feet positions (first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth), basic ballet skills like walking on the toes (releve'), tendu', grand jete', passe', chasse', e'chape', and developpe'. We will also cover the translation of these French words to the English language. A doll or stuffed animal is welcome (please no more than one). No experience necessary. Students can join any time since we review positions and dance steps in every class. Week 1 August 17th - Welcome to ballet! Other Details
Parental Guidance
This is not a rigorous exercise class, however parental guidance is advised. Learners will need an open space where they can walk around on their toes and perform basic leaps, jumps, and turns. Cold tea or drink is preferred, but if the student enjoys hot tea please make sure it's warm and not hot. No open shoes allowed. Students should wear ballet slippers or sneakers.
