In this one time class, we will use Pop Rocks as the secret ingredient to give these cookies a delicious twist!

Class Experience

Join us as we make these deliciously poppin' cookies that your whole family will love!

In this class, students will practice following directions as we combine ingredients and work step-by-step to produce approximately two dozen cookies.  Students will learn baking skills such as measuring, ingredient combining sequence, and proper food handling.  This will be a laid back and fun class, and I look forward to meeting your student! 

Please have all ingredients out and ready at class start...

Students will have fun in the kitchen - nurturing a lifelong love of cooking!

2 Sticks Butter
Sugar
Powdered sugar
Vanilla
Block of cream cheese
Milk
Lemon juice or vinegar 
Nutmeg or cinnamon
Flour
Baking soda
Salt
Pop Rocks (at least two small packages) - *usually, I find these at Dollar Tree!
Red, white, and/or blue sprinkles (optional)
Parchment paper (optional, but strongly encouraged)
Oven access
Hand mixer or Stand mixer
Cookie Pan
Measuring cups/spoons

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will be informally assessed based on their ability to follow teacher directions, and the quality of the final product (cookies).

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
