In this class your child will learn how to make a coffee cake from start to finish from scratch. We will go over reading a recipe, discuss why it is important to follow each step before continuing to the next step of a recipe. Measuring out all the ingredients, mixing the ingredients, oven safety, and baking the brownies. This is a hands on class where I will be baking right along with the children. At the end of this class we will all be able to enjoy our very own cake and share them with...
At the end of this class your child will be able to successfully bake coffee cake and be better acquainted with the kitchen.
I am so excited to get children interested in baking and being in the kitchen. It is a skill they will use for the rest of their life. I first fell in love with baking when I was 5 years old making chocolate chip cookies with my father. I have been baking ever since. I want to help spark a passion for baking in children and watch it grow!
For this class your child will need: An apron, measuring cups for dry and liquid ingredients, measuring spoons, mixing bowls, mixer ( hand or stand), spatula, a Bundt pan greased, cooling rack. 2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt 2/3 cup butter or 11 tablespoons 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 beaten eggs 1 1/3 cups buttermilk 1/2 cup chopped nuts of your choosing
