Cranberry Thanksgiving, by Wende and Harry Devlin, is a holiday classic! Students will enjoy a read-aloud of the book, and then learn how to bake their own delicious loaf of cranberry bread! Start a new family tradition with this fun, inclusive activity. Young bakers of all skill levels are welcome, as the instructor will model all skills and steps as we go along. This course will be taught by live demonstration. Students may bake along with me, or merely watch to learn. There will be interaction between the instructor and students, and student interaction as well. Variations can be made with this recipe if the student has any other allergies. Let me know in advance if I need to modify the lesson to include a vegan or nut-free recipe. Bread can be made gluten-free by swapping in a gluten-free flour.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Arkansas Teaching Certificate in English/Language Arts
I have been cooking since I was old enough to push a chair up to the stove. I have fond memories of my mother reading this book to me each year, and then baking with me afterward! I have a lifelong love of all things culinary. I have many years of professional baking experience, as well as two years of working at the elementary level. I have been completely gluten free since the age of eight, so I have decades of experience with gluten-free cooking and baking.
