Class Experience
Welcome! In this class we will be making no-bake granola bars. We will be using a microwave for this recipe, no stove top/oven. Welcome/intro Review list of ingredients together Work through recipe together while talking (discussion will be open and student led) Outros Goodbyes This is a simple recipe with no baking experience required. Ingredients are listed below and your own variations are welcome unless noted otherwise. Baking is a fun and easy way to practice working towards an end...
Students will make their very own yummy granola bars.
- 2 cups rolled oats - 3 cups crispy rice cereal like Rice Krispies - 1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut *can omit if preferred - 1/3 cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips sub: raisins, dried cherries, or cranberries - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 cup unsweetened creamy natural peanut butter sub: any nut or sun butter you prefer - 1 cup brown rice syrup sub: honey Most of these ingredients can be replaced or omitted with alternatives. This recipe can be made to each baker's taste. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about ingredients before class!
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
*learner MAY need adult help with microwave portion (warming the nut/sun butter), pouring the mixture into dish once melted (may be heavy for some) or using a knife to cut granola into bars once set.
