This class is welcoming to children with special needs and designed to be flexible and inclusive. The class is adaptable yet caregivers are responsible for monitoring and addressing their child's specific needs to ensure safety.
Parental Guidance
Please keep any sharp or hot objects away from children. As parents, guardians, or the adult who is supervising the task, please ensure that you only allow your child to work with any items such as a hot stove or oven, or knife as their age, skill, and safety awareness permits.
Pre-Requisites
This class is open to all kids. Previous experience w/basic kitchen tasks is helpful but not required. Please make sure your child participates safely, and avoid allowing them to do anything that’s not safe for your child's skill level.

1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
 ½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup of salted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes (cut each stick into about 16 pieces; if using unsalted butter increase the salt listed below from 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
