In this course, students will learn to make a chocolate chip cookie pie, and a homemade pie crust! I am so excited to share this yummy recipe, as it is one that I make every Thanksgiving! Students will learn to bake a chocolate chip cookie pie and pie crust.
-Oven -Pie pan -2 mixing bowls -Mixer (if you do not have a mixer or hand mixer, a whisk can work) -Wooden spoon -Spatula -Pastry cutter or fork -Rolling pin -Rolling mat or clean surface to roll out pie dough -All-Purpose flour -Sugar -Brown Sugar -1 1/2 sticks butter (softened for 2 hours prior to class) -Butter flavored Crisco -2 large eggs -Semi-sweet chocolate chips -1 cup chopped nuts (optional) *Recipes will be posted in the classroom. **This pie is best eaten warm with vanilla ice cream!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be using an oven and a mixer. If they are not used to these tools, parents should be nearby to help.
