Let's make some delicious Baked Chocolate Glazed Donuts, S'more's Dessert Cups, Baked Apple Cider Donuts, and Ice Cream Sandwiches! Learners will bake while watching my FLEX class videos each week.

Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their baking skills and add 4 new recipes to their cook book! 
Homework will be submitting a picture of their pastry they baked along with a small paragraph about their experience, any issues, what they did to resolve issues, and what they think of their creation. I will always reply by video to your submissions, with excitement and or feedback if needed to help perfect there baking skills.

WEEK 1 INGREDIENTS: 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup sugar 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 12 large marshmallows 2 Hershey's chocolate bars (1.55 oz each) WEEK 1 SUPPLY LIST: Electric mixer is preferred 1 large mixing bowl regular paddle attachment for cookie dough Spatula measuring cups and spoons cutting board and knife or scissors mini muffin pans cooking spray 1 Tbsp cookie scoop or two large spoons WEEK 2 INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup cocoa powder 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1/2 cup sour cream 6 Tbs milk 2 Tbs butter melted 2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar 6 Tbs milk 2 1/4 tsp vanilla extract OPTIONAL: Sprinkles WEEK 2 SUPPLIES: 12 donut cavities (1-2 donut pans) IMPORTANT, MUST HAVE! I purchased mine at Michaels, you may have to purchase online and have it shipped. Please look into a week before class to make sure you can get the pans in time. measuring cups and spoons large mixing bowl, small mixing bowl spatula whisk butter knife or fork cooking spray cookie cooling wrack or wire wrack piping bag or large ziplock bag scissors WEEK 3 INGREDIENTS: 1 cup apple cider* 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp cloves 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1 egg 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup buttermilk** 1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp cloves 1/8 tsp nutmeg 6 Tbsp melted butter WEEK 3 SUPPLIES: #1 IMPORTANT REQUIRED ITEM: 6 cavity donut baking pan (can't substitute this if wanting to make donuts. I purchased mine at Michaels with a coupon, Amazon, Walmart etc. Just check your local stores. Mixer or large mixing bowl medium mixing bowl measuring spoons and cups small sauce pan spatula large ziplock bag scissors All ingredients in the recipe oven and stove top WEEK 4 INGREDIENTS: 1 1/4 cups of butter (softened not melted) 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp granulated white sugar 1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 2 large eggs, room temperature 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups plus 2 Tbsp all purpose flour 1 2/3 cups bread flour 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. sea salt 1 -1 1/2 cups mini semisweet chocolate chips 1 container vanilla bean ice cream 1 bag mini chocolate chips or sprinkles WEEK 4 SUPPLIES: Electric mixer measuring spoons and cups spatula cookie baking sheet cookie cooling rack or parchment paper parchment paper or silicon non stick liner for a baking sheet 2 Tbsp cookie scoop or large spoon ice cream scoop
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parental supervision is encouraged to be available if your learner needs help with the oven. Ingredients may need to be substituted to fit your learners needs if they have food allergies. Please reach out if you are not sure what to use for a substitute. Not all items can be substituted and some substitutions can affect the texture and look of the pastry.
