In this 5-week class, we will meet each week to discuss a Babysitters Club Graphic Novel, while baking dishes inspired from the pages of this classic series!
Class experience
In this 5-week class we will read (outside of class) the first 5 books that appear in the Babysitters Club Graphic Novel Series, then we'll discuss what we read and prepare delicious bakes inspired by the books. Each week we will meet to: -discuss the assigned book we've read outside of class. -bake a treat inspired by the character featured in that book. -support each other through the process of successfully working through the recipe, while leaving room for some kitchen...

The first 5 books of the Babysitters Club Graphic Novel Series to read. Ingredient List for Class: (Please see the classroom posts for each week's specific recipe and amounts) butter (we'll always use unsalted) milk eggs cream cheese vanilla white sugar brown sugar powdered sugar all-purpose flour salt baking powder baking soda cinnamon nutmeg cloves chocolate chips oreo cookies apples carrots (shredded) oats sprinkles, colored sugar, or other decorations optional: raisins Materials List for class: cooking spray sifter or wire strainer large mixing bowl (sometimes 2) measuring cups measuring spoons mixing spoon whisk rubber spatula stand mixer/electric mixer/ or a strong arm toothpicks or fork cooling racks oven mitts metal spatula parchment paper cookie sheets 12 muffin tin cupcake paper liners Optional : strong freezer-style ziplock bag (quart or gallon size)
Allergies-All recipes are nut-free, but please look over the listed ingredients to avoid any allergens that may effect your child. Parents will be required to help out on all the parts of our baking project that include heat, or sharp objects. Additional assistance guidance- it will be helpful for each family to decide how best to support their baker during the class, based on experience and age.
