Class Experience
Students will learn the steps to make and bake delicate Baklava.
I have experience in teaching this course to children as young as 7 years old, preteens, teenagers, young adults, and adults. I look forward to baking with you!
A detailed ingredient list will be available upon enrollment This is a very long class! Please have a water bottle or drink nearby to sip throughout the class. 1 box of Phyllo sheets (Approx 18 sheets) found in the frozen section of the grocery store. These phyllo sheets are as THIN as TISSUE PAPER and very fragile to the touch! This is what makes Baklava so amazing: thin crispy layers of phyllo and butter....ahhhhh, I can hear the crunchy goodness! Please do not get this phyllo confused with Phyllo pastry dough which is used for pie crusts type recipes. Honey Almonds (I buy whole almonds from Costco and place them in a food chopper) Please do not use Sliced almonds Sugar Lots of butter!! Butter brush Rectangular baking pan/cookie sheet ( I have used many different sizes! from 9x12, 12-16 ) if you have questions please message me! Mixing spoon Measuring spoons Measuring cup Large Bowl for almond filling Counter space to spread out phyllo leaves next to baking pan Stove Oven Sharp Knife to slice and divide Baklava prior to baking 2 butter knives Cake server or tool to remove finished Baklava from pan
