Bake and Decorate Christmas Cookies for Santa, Make Reindeer Food, and More
In this class, we will be baking Christmas cookies and decorating them to be put out for Santa on Christmas Eve. We can't leave the reindeer out so we will make some reindeer food. We will also listen to "T'was the Night Before Christmas."
Class Experience
We are going to bake cookies for Santa to be put out on Christmas Eve. We will start the class by singing "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and "Jingle Bells." Next, we will preheat the oven and prep the cookie sheet by spraying some Pam non sticking spray on it. The children will be given a demonstration of how to slice the cookies and put them on the baking sheet. Cookies for Santa Supplies: 16.5oz. Refrigerated sugar cookie dough that comes in a tube and can be sliced(Such as Pillsbury) 1 Bag of large size Marshmallows(Not Mini Marshmallows or s'more style marshmellows) 1 tub Red Icing(You can use red food coloring and dye white icing) 1/2 tub Yellow Icing(You can use yellow food coloring and dye white icing) Black icing(Usually found in a tube near the icing) 1 package of White Chocolate Chips Utensil for spreading the icing such as a butter knife or a knife used for icing a cake Ziplock Baggies or icing bags with the tip cut off about the size of the pen tip in order for the icing to get out Pam non sticking spray Baking Sheet Environmentally Safe Reindeer Food Supplies: 2 cups of oats(Such as Quaker Oats) 1 tablespoon red sprinkles(Such as cake sprinkles) 1 tablespoon green sprinkles(Such as cake sprinkles) Gallon size Ziplock bag Bird Seed(Optional)
Children will need assistance when using the stove and using a butter knife to slice the cookie dough. The children will also need help taking the cookies off the cookie sheet because they may still be warm to the touch and I do not want them getting burned. *Food Allergens*- If your child has food allergies, please read the labels on the food packaging before purchasing. Cookie dough often contains eggs, wheat, or milk products. The dough may have been processed in a factory that also processes nuts.
