A Practice Chanter is helpful to have. If not, no worries I can show you what one looks like so you will have a better idea. A Beginner's Bagpipe Book like The Highland Bagpipe Tutor Book 1. This book is referred to by many as the COP book or the Green book. Their are many others out there but the above mention works very well. See the list below at Amazon to get an idea and pick one that suits you: RG Hardie Bagpipe Twist Trap Practice Chanter - tap below https://a.co/d/Old659G Frazer Warnock Standard Bagpipe Practice Chanter - tap below https://a.co/d/bHWBefo Barefoot Bagpiper Practice Chanter - tap below https://a.co/d/gnB4946
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
As a Bagpipe Instructor I can see and hear progress in a class. I can tell if the student has been listening to instructions and if the student has been practicing or not. Just by how one has their fingers on the Chanter holes.
Students will be given verbal feedback each week and positive reinforcement for their work.
Learning is fun!
35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will being using a Practice Chanter and Beginners Bagpipe Book. Any well know Bagpipe Supply Company carries them as well as online. Best to get a quality Chanter as this may last a lifetime. A Chanter should be bought from a recognized bagpipe firm, or dealer, who has a tradition to uphold.
