In this interactive and engaging plant study class, students will learn about the plants in their own environment and get to study other plants from students around the world.

Class experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Students will learn how to use a dichotomous key for identifying and learning about the plants in their own city and from the other student’s plants around the world.
I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology/Evolutionary Biology. I was an AP Environmental Sciences Teacher for many years and more recently became an Online ESL Teacher for VIPKID.
Homework Offered
Optional: Find a plant in your yard, identify it, and do some research about it and what makes it important to the world around you.

For class, children should try to bring a small branch from a tree to class with them to show the other students and learn to identify it. Be sure to get permission to gather the sample from an adult first. They can also take a picture of the plant to show if they prefer.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
