Class experience
Summer is coming to an end and students are gearing up to return to school. Too often students forget what they have learned from the previous school year and just need a little boost to rapidly accelerate into the new one. In this one-time class, students will refresh their writing techniques and will be boosted to the next level. Students will review the basics of age-appropriate good writing (grammar usage, sentence construction, parts of speech), edit and improve a sample paragraph, and write one of their own.
I am a licensed English teacher grades 5-12 since 1998 and a mastered degree/licensed reading teacher grades K-12 since 2003. My passion is in teaching students not just to be able to read and write but to love doing so. I have homeschooled my own children, began teaching online during the pandemic, and have opened an in-person bilingual school of my own. I teach on Outschool as a desire to share my passion with more students globally.
Students should have notebook paper and a writing utensil of their choosing. Optionally they may have colored pencils on hand for editing their own work. Any handouts that I use will be of my own creation and will be shared with families at least twenty-four hours prior to the start of class to allow for printing if desired.
